Anyway...
Turned on my PC today and couldn't type. So, after checking that it was plugged in (for some reason, it wasn't... can you say "bad kitty?") and doing a restart I get the keyboard typing, but only if I held down the key for a certain amount of time, which totally stumped me for a while. Then I remembered something I'd seen when checking settings when I first got the new PC and went and looked in the keyboard's setting... Anyway... to cut a long story short, it turned out that for some strange reason the box by the option to "ignore single key strokes" (or something like that) has checked. So, I unchecked that box and now it works fine. Thankfully! I thought for a minute there that I should have gotten a new keyboard when I got the new PC. I'm glad that turned out not to be the case! LOL!
Well, I decided to make a new page for my poems, so, if you direct your attention to the right in the sidebar (under the heading of "Also See...") then you will see the link to Tori's Poetry Spot. I've only gotten about half of my poems on there so far, but anyway, it's there if you want to look. I've used the "post labels" option to make a bit where you can browse my poems by subject, which I'm pretty pleased with myself for doing. LOL!
Anyhow, the table is booked for us for my Mam's birthday dinner on Saturday December 16th (her birthday is on the 19th, but Jo can't make it for her actual birthday so we're going early). They wanted me to book it since I have the number of the Chinese place Mam and I love saved in my mobile phone where as Mam would have to look it up. LOL! But, anyway, I booked it today because I wanted to make sure we could go at the time we wanted so that it doesn't interfere with my stream and the campaign thingy that Kelly's starting up with the club. I was worried if we left it too long there would be so many people booking Christmas dinners and such that we wouldn't even get a table for one, let alone a table for three... lol!
The radio just made me laugh - again - there was an advert on it (for a child trust fund in case you wanted to know) and it always makes me laugh... why? Well, because the main part of the add is this little kid - can't be older than eight or nine, if that - saying, "the incey, wincey spider climbed up the water spout, down came the rain and.... well... flooded the main drain basically" then it goes on to talk about you not knowing what your child will be when he or she grows up so open it a trust fund, and then before they end it this same kid says, "see, it wasn't just the spout, it was the whole drain... talk about shoddy workmanship!" LOL!
So, anyways, now that I've told my Mam about it I can tell you guys what I did the other day. So, like I said yesterday, I got my new CD rack and while I was changing stuff about a bit to put that where I wanted it I decided to put my ornaments up on higher shelves where the cats don't go so much so that they should be safe (since they've already broken a couple, though none that I really liked, lol). Anyway, I was up on a chair putting my ornaments up and lost my balance... I had a choice at this point, let go of the ornament I was holding (a crystal horse) and make sure I got my balance back, or, hold on to it and fall and hope it didn't break. Well, figuring it would break either way anyway, I let go off it. Managed to steady myself on the chair but - as predicted - the horse hit the floor and... SMASH! Luckily, Sakura and Megan were out and the smash was enough to send Kero and Chance from the room as fast as their little paws would carry them, giving me time to carefully climb down and pick up the piecess of ornament. I did look to see if it could have been repaired, but nope! And it was one of my favourites too!!! I now have a cut across my thumb where a piece of it bounced off the floor and hit my hand, but other than that no damage was done to anything or anyone but the ornament. So, that's good, I guess. Still, I did love that ornament!
