Question regarding escaping reality

We all have moments when we wish we were somewhere else and doing something else, right?

So I was just wondering...

If you could be anywhere in the world right now, doing anything you want to do, and with anyone you want to be with (or alone if you wish). Where would you be? What would you be doing? And who - if anyone - would you be with?

And, yes, you are allowed to name people who are no longer living.

Wow. That's an interesting question! My first thought was the "where" wouldn't matter as much as the "with whom" part. Its a cliche but if I was with someone special, I don't think I'd care where I was.

I know in the past, I've been to lunchs and whatnot with someone interesting and come home not remembering where nor what I ate.

That's the escape I would like.

No question about where I would be....I would be in Abilene, Texas, sitting on Karla's front porch talking and laughing with my best friend. :)

I always thought that too iggy, til we moved to Virginia. No offense but if the opportunity came up for hubby and I to go back to Texas, you'd be sure this house would be packed and ready in 2 days time. I miss my friends and "family" back that way! Closest thing I have to a "friend" here is my hairdresser. Man I need to get out more often.

I guess since I live "at home" I've no overwhelming desire to live elsewhere. I guess I was thinking the question was more short-term - as in a temporary escape from reality which has an annoying tendency of finding me wherever I might be. :)

I like being around water though - give me a quiet place stream, pond, lake, bay, or ocean-side and a cooling breeze and I'll probably be content and doing little besides just sitting there taking it all in.

Yes, that is how I meant it... A temporary escape from reality... But I don't mind how people answer. As long as they aren't rude, of course. :)

Great answer by the way. :)

That's nice! :)

You never know, that oppertunity may come in the near future. :)

At home doesnt exist for me any longer as my folks moved from where I grew up and live elsewhere now and that aint home.

On a short-term escape...I wouldnt mind going back to either the Poconos again (but with a decent hubby this time) or up into the Catskill Mountains....oh wait...the Smokeys were nice too. Hmmm

without hesitation i would love to be with my mum back where we lived in northam southampton, so we could chat about all our children , grandchildren and great grandchildren, and in my mums case great-great granchildren, but seeing as we lost her 40 years ago at the age of 50, there isnt a chance of that.

How do you do… escaping

To escape is what we humans do throughout our lives. In countries, relationships, friends, jobs, lifestyles and dear old braino with all its pseudo logic, afflictive desires and tempting idiosyncrasies. But will we, could we, do we, want to escape?
