Furkid Friday - September 25th 2015

Hi humans, rats, and anyone else reading this.

This is Star the rat.

My ratty sister, Skye, and I had something called a birthday a few weeks ago.

Now, I'm not too sure what a birthday is, but on the day we were told we were having one we had some extra nibbles, and got a new hammock, so if that's what happens when birthdays happen, we're totally fine with them, and they can happen as often as they like.

Our pink hammock was getting a bit tattered from our claws catching it when we climbed in and out, turned over in our sleep, etc, so it needed to be replaced.

This is our new purple hammock:

Our degu brothers did have blue ones like it, but they kept pulling them down, and the humans got fed up of putting them up just to find them pulled down five minutes later, so they let the degus have them as blankets for their nesting box instead, since that seems to be what they want to do with them.

Skye and I don't understand why, since we love to stretch out in our hammock for a nap. But those degus are strange, and we try not to let their unusual behaviour bother us.

Squeak soon,
Star

So funny! Degus don't think like rats, I guess. Lovely hammock for your birthday! Glad you two appreciate yours. :)

Iggy:
Thank you!

Rita:
I guess they don't. But at least we appreciate ours.
