Summer quotes

"Ah, summer, what power you have to make us suffer and like it." ~Russel Baker

"A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken." ~James Dent

"In June, as many as a dozen species may burst their buds on a single day. No man can heed all of these anniversaries; no man can ignore all of them." ~Aldo Leopold

"Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass on a summer day listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is hardly a waste of time." ~John Lubbock

I liked that last quote best. :)

I hope you're having a good Tuesday.

Me, too!
You never forget lying in the grass on a beautiful day--on a day where you can pause for as long as you want. :)
You have a good Tuesday, too.

I'm a huge fan of Aldo Leopold. Sand County Almanac is a wonderful read.

Great quotes.

Hot and muggy here, but then it IS summer... whether the beginning or middle. Doesn't really matter all that much.

I'm going to go with James Dent...

Happiness is a broken lawnmower...

AK and Rita:
That's my favourite too. And a great way to spend the day. :)

I agree. It doesn't really matter.

I thought you might. But then, it's a good one... Besides, lawn mower noises make it difficult to relax on the lawn. ;)
