Hi everyone! This is Maizie the chinchilla.
The day the little white Lilie dog arrived, we got presents!
The human caretakers said they were officially presents from her, but we were getting them early so we could play with them in peace while they fetched her. We didn't care who they were from, as long as they were for us. Anyway, there was one for me and my chinchilla sister, Mollie, to share, and one for Joshua all for himself.
Joshua rushed over to see what his was the moment the human caretakers took it to his cage...
Then dragged it to his favourite spot behind his wheel to have a good gnaw on it...
But Mollie and I just stuck our heads out of either end of our wooden log house...
And decided we'd check it out later. It was one of those days you humans call "beautiful" so we considered it to be too bright and sunny for us to come check out our new toy. We did play with it - and chew on it, of course - afterwards. The human caretakers even tried to get photos. But we went away from it every time they pointed the flashy thing at us, and they eventually gave up trying. Here's a photo they took of just the toy though:
Of course, that was taken before we got our teeth in to it. The wooden shapes on the chain are different now we've had a good gnaw on them. Oh, and the human caretakers say they'll use the chain to hang other stuff on for us to chew on after we chew up all those shapes, which sounds great to us!
Wasn't that nice of the little white Lilie dog to send us presents when she was planning to come live in our home?
