An early start to Monday

Well, it's about 8:30 am and I'm up, wide awake and bored. Actually, I've been up for a while and have been posting some poems that jumped in to my head last night. I have to wonder about my sanity sometimes (if you go to the 'Tori's poems' page and read the 'Pixies' and 'Dragons' poems and you should see what I mean by that comment... lol!) Anyhow, since it's still early there's not really any more to say, but I thought I'd drop by to do my blogging now because I'm having visitors later so I doubt I'll get a chance to be on the PC later on.

Sunny Sunday

It's a lovely sunny day today. So, basically, it's the complete oposite to the awful weather we had yesterday.

I managed to get all of my laundry done yesterday, which means that I don't really have a lot of stuff that needs to be done today, so, I'm having a lazy day and just kinda alternating between watching TV, messing about on the PC and playing with the furkids. That's pretty much been my day today.

Updates for today

Well, it appears that Chance and Kero are starting to become friends. I even managed to get a couple of decent photos of the two of them playing together. And last night Kero, Megan and Chance were all following me around the whole house (ok, flat) and there was no hissing, no spitting, no growling, no yapping, no clawing - basically, no aggression of any kind - from anyone. So, I'm really pleased about that.

I think Megan and Chance especially are becoming good friends, since the two of them are spending a lot of time together (good thing Megan's been spayed, because Chance hasn't been neutered yet, lol) and have taken to eating side-by-side while Sakura eats away from them, because she insists that she CAN NOT eat anywhere near this new kid, and nothing on this earth will make her do so. I know she likes him really, because I've seen them playing together. But, Sakura is picky about what she does, when she does it, and how she does it, and is not quite ready to let us all see how much she actually likes Chance. It seems that Sakura has forgotten that I have not only seen her near Chance, but also have photos to prove it. She really makes me laugh sometimes. LOL!

Anyway...

It's 1:00 pm and so far I have helped Kelly clean the hamster cages, fed Kero and the cats, fed the fish, washed, dried and put away the dishes from last night and made a start on the week's laundry. I only got up at 11:am, so, I think I'm doing pretty good today. I still need to take Kero for a proper walk though, as he's only had his short walk so far. But, neither me nor him are in a hurry to go out there, because once again it is cold and wet out there. I wonder if we're going to get any sun this summer? Well, we shall see.

Right, well, I'm going to say 'that's all folks' for now and Kero and I will brave the rain to go for a walk. Then I think I'll have some lunch.

Hamlet's 2nd birthday

Today (May 26th 2006) is Hamlet's 2nd birthday. I'm afraid he didn't get spoiled as much as Kero did, but he did get some hamster treats and some cheese. And, of course, he got his birthday card.

I don't think he cares that it's his birthday though. lol!

Look at what I had made for me by a friend from one of my groups. Isn't it cool? I don't know if she made the dolphin itself or only added the nickname I use on the groups to it, but either way, I really like it.

Anyway...

It was finally sunny today. For a few hours anyway. It's back to being wet and raining again now though. So, that's the weather report. Yep, that's right, it's a slow day and not much going on with us, so, I'm reduced to talking about the weather. lol!

Nice thing to wake up to

Well, well, well... look at what I got up to find this morning. All three cats playing together in the front room (Sakura is the one on the back of the chair, Megan is the one on the TV and Chance is the orange coloured shape behind the net curtain).

Wasn't that a nice thing to be greeted by first thing in the morning?

Kero's 2nd Birthday

Yesterday (May 23rd 2006) was Kero's 2nd birthday. He got three new toys (two new squeaky toys from us, and a mousse teddy from our Nan), some chocolate bones and some chewy sticks. The chewy sticks were from our next door neighbour. And, he even got bacon and sausages for breakfast. In short, he got thoroughly spoiled, as per usual. I think he had a good day.

Three year anniversary

Well, today is mine and Kelly's third wedding anniversary and we've had a pretty good day. We got some really nice cards and some money too (no, I don't know what I will be spending mine on yet) and Nan got us a lovely magnet which is, of course, now on our fridge with the other magnets we have.

I gave Kelly money to spend as he pleases as that's what he usually prefers to do when he gets the choice. Usually he uses the money towards some of the Warhammer figures he wants or something else he's wanted for a while but hasn't gotten around to getting yet. As for me, well, I got my Oriental cat Chance, of course, and Kelly also got me a Harry Potter postcard book (because I love Harry Potter) and the first book in the series of books that are the inspiration for the movie 'Lemony Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events'. No, I'm not done reading it yet. LOL! I have started it though. And, yes, it is good so far.

I've been fiddling with pages today (as certain people who check my pages regularly will notice) so if stuff is missing (i.e. comments) don't panic, it was j ust something that happened as a result of fiddling with the pages. Hopesfully it wont happen again. Just thought I'd let you know so you aren't worrying that you did something wrong and deleted something or whatever.

Chance update

Chance has made himself at home and is starting to get on with the other animals better (yes, even Kero). He still prefers to stay out of the way up on top of the kitchen cabinets, but he's coming down more now and showing us what a cuddle kitty he can be. I think it helps that Keroberous has now stopped yapping at him and trying to force him to play all the time. Also, he - meaning Chance - has stopped crying when we go to bed now too. For about the first week he cried every time we went to bed. First we thought it was because of the dark, but we tried leaving the light on and he still cried, so, it didn't take us long to realise that what he was crying for was because for the first time in his life he was being left alone. If it wasn't for his feelings towards Kero we'd have scooped him up and taken him to bed with us, but that wouldn't have been fair on Kero. Anyway, he's stopped getting upset that we're leaving him alone now. He's always very pleased to see us in the mornings though and gets upset if we don't say "hi Chance" straight away. Bless him.

Dinner out

We - Kelly, Mam, Dad and I - went out for a joint anniversary (I think I spelled that right) celebration on Thursday. Our wedding anniversaries are only a week appart (theirs is May 15th ours is tomorrow, which is May 22nd) so rather than going out to dinner twice we all went together to celebrate. Anyway, we went to the Chinese restauraunt called 'The Royal Kitchen' that is not far from here and had a three course meal. I don't remember what everyone had, but I know I had chicken sortay for starters then lamb with sortay sauce and beef fried rice for the main course then I had a caramel sundae for desert. So, bang went the diet for that day, you think? lol! But, we had a great evening and that's all that matters, right? And, besides, is it my fault the food tastes so good there? LOL!

So, now you are thinking "what about Kero?" because of the fact he never gets left alone, right? Well, don't worry. We got Wayne and Tizzy to look after Kero (and the cats) so that we could enjoy our meal without worrying. Wayne's usually the one who has Kero for me anyway and Kero loves when he comes to visit because he always has fun stuff (i.e. dirty hankies) in his pocket for Kero to steal to play with. Yeah, I know, YUCK! But, that's what he does. Only with Wayne though for some reason. He's done it since he was a tiny puppy.

Sakura

Well, I managed to persuade miss stressy cat (yes, I'm talking about Sakura) to let me take one photo of her to put in her album. She wasn't all that impressed though. But, you can see that for yourself just by looking at the photo I took (the one I'm posting with this message). Still, it's not too bad of a photo. I mean, she looks a bit annoyed with me, but other than that it's a pretty good photo if I do say so myself.

Pet photo shoot

We had a pet photo shoot today and took some really nice photos of Kero, Megan and Chance. We would have taken some of Sakura too, but she was having none of it. I think Kero had a great time posing for the camera though. But then, Kero loves the camera. Anyway, that means there'll be loads of new photos in their albums on my MSN group (the one called A Muggle's Paradise INC that's on the sidebar). If you want to see them then go to that site and check out their sections or just go to the photo albums. Either one is fine. It's your call!

Chance is on the family page

Show off...

As you can see from these pics, Chance is a real show off. I got the camera out and there was Chance, posing and showing off like anything. LOL!

But, can you blame him? I mean, look at that face!!! He's a handsome kitty and boy does he know it! I guess he just wants to show the world what a handsome cat he is.

Coursework Grades

I just got told that my overall grade for all my coursework combined for the English class I'm doing is A. I actually got a B, an A* and two As, but they give you an overall grade and mine is A. So, now I just got my exams to do at the start of June.

Oh, yeah, I also found out that I had my story - which was one of the pieces of coursework - complimented. Apparently the moderator who looked at my work (to make sure the teacher had grated it fairly) said that it was 'excellent' and 'very well written'. That's a great thing to be told when you are a writer, don't you think?

Here's a photo of Chance. Isn't he a handsome boy? I'd say "handsome little man" but he's not exactly a small cat (as you can see from the photo). And, he's already posing for the camera, which means that he and I will get on great. lol!

Anyway, I will be posting a bit about him on The Zigler Family page, but I will be posting it under his actual title, which is Myskanco Silva Flame. Chance is just his pet name.

Better late than never

I know I'm a bit late with this, but, hey, better late than never, right?

Anyway, Chance is home.

We had a bit of chaos at first since he wasn't too happy to find a strange dog in the house and though Kero was VERY happy to have a new friend Chance didn't share his feelings. But, it's all calming down now and Chance has started to explore his new home. He has also started to show us how right his breeder was about his love of cuddles and pretty much any other sort of attention.

Sakura and Megan aren't sure what to make of him, but there's not really any agression between them, so, I'm not worried. They've been in the house alone for a while and nobody got hurt, so, that's a good start, right?

Cats & carriers

Well, Sakura and Megan weren't the least bit bothered about the carrier coming out. Megan keeps trying to open the door to go in it (I have it closed to keep it nice for Chance for tomorrow) but Sakura was more interested in asking for cat treats. Little pig. I usually have the carriers all out with the doors open because for one thing it gives the cats somewhere to hide, for another it limits stress when it's time for them to go in them for the vet and for another it gives me somewhere to put them if we need them out of the way if we are using something they can't be near (like when we were washing the floor and had the bleech cupboard open the other night). But I've had this one put away with the door on it closed to keep it clean and tidy for Chance.

Anyway, I can't wait to have Chance home. I think Kelly's getting excited too, but he's acting like he's not bothered one way or another. I know him well enough though. I mean, constant comments about how cute Chance is are a bit of a give away that he's looking forward to having him here, don't you think? LOL!

Today's update

Well, Chance is coming home tomorrow. Not long now. Got to get the pet carrier out and make sure it's all sorted for him. I bet Sakura and Megan will think they are going somewhere when they see the pet carrier come out. Especially since the one Chance is having was Megan's. She's got the newer one because it's a bit smaller and Megan's only a little cat where as Sakura's a fair size and I'm not too sure how big Chance is. Megan doesn't mind. Since I told her the new one is her carrier now she's been sleeping in that one instead anyway, so, she seems to get that it's now hers and be happy with the idea.

Anyway, I better get on with my chores and walking Kero and such.

Chance

We'll be adding a new member to the family. His name is Chance and he will be joining our family on Friday. We are very much looking forward to his arrival.

Kelly's birthday

Yesterday, May 2nd 2006, was Kelly's 35th birthday.
