My books, their books, Michael's birthday, and blogs

My first 2 books are still half price at Smashwords with the coupon code SSW50 – if you’re interested. To take advantage of the offer, simply go to my Smashwords author page and find the links for “Mr. Pumpkin-Head And Other Poems” or “Witchlet” (or both) and add them to your cart, then add the coupon code SSW50 at the checkout stage.

For anyone who missed the announcement last week, I published my latest book “Bluebell The Fairy Guide” last week. You can grab that via my profile page too, but it’s not included in the offer.

I’ve spent most of my time reading and writing lately (as I mentioned a couple of weeks ago). You’ve seen the reviews for most of the books I’ve read, and I’ll be posting reviews for the rest soon. I just wanted to say – since I keep forgetting – that most of the books I’ve been reading were free to download from Smashwords. So if you’re interested in reading them you may want to check there to see if the book you want to read is one of the free ones. In fact, even the ones that weren’t free were often only a dollar or 2 anyway. I mean, a couple of my recent reads were audiobooks which I brought (and which cost a fair bit more) but for the most part the books I’ve reviewed this month have been free from Smashwords, or ones available to download online which I got free via the “Basically Books” group I’m a member of on Goodreads. Anyway, what I’m basically saying is, if you like the sound of something I review, go to Smashwords and see if it’s one of the free books I got from there. I still have several more free books I got from Smashwords to read and review, actually.

Back to my books though…

“Witchlet” has somehow turned in to the first in a series (well, currently a trilogy, but you never know). I’m working on the second book in the series, and have some scribbled notes for the third. I decided since I was turning it in to a series that the series needed a title, so “Witchlet” is now book one in the “Magical Chapters” series. OK, so it’s not the most awe inspiring series title, but I like it. I mean, it tells it like it is. They’re chapter books about magical/fantasy creatures, AKA magical chapter books. It sounds good to me anyway. Besides, I wanted something simple. I don’t have the title for book 3 yet, but I can reveal that book 2 is “The Pineapple Loving Dragon” and is an expansion on the story of the same name that was posted on this very blog back in April. There has been a lot of work done to the story so far, with more to go. I have a rough publication date planned, but I’m not sharing it until closer, when I’ll know for sure if it will be ready.

I’m also working on another series, which you’ll hear more about soon, and a handful of short stories, which I’ll tell you about as they get published.  There may also be giveaways for some of them.  ;)

I think this will do for today. I have some fun posts coming up for you soon though. At least, I hope you’ll enjoy them. Also, lovers of churches and old buildings will want to keep an eye on Kelly’s blog since he has several photo filled posts on that theme coming up some time soon. Oh, and check out my Mam's blog for a Willow related announcement.

One last thing before I end this…

Happy birthday to little Michael, who celebrates his 2nd birthday today!

Stay safe, and also hot or cool - whichever the case may be where you are! I hope you're as lucky as me and getting a nice mixture of weathers so that it doesn't get too hot or wet for too long!

Just read the news on Willow. I am sure you will miss her but that your Mam will be glad to have her back.

Yes, we will. But Willow needs it. And I think my Mam does too.

Good luck with your writing. Sounds like you're well on your way to success. :)

And what great news for your Mam and Willow. I'm sure those two will help each other live life to the fullest. :)

Sometimes you have to let go in order to live again. *hugs*

Thanks! :)

We all think it's going to be a good thing for Willow to go back to my Mam. She'll be happier too, I think (Willow, I mean, though I'm sure Mam will be too).
