I toss and turn...listen to a cd...and toss and turn some more. My neck and back will be aching so bad by this time, I pray for sleep.I take prescription Xanax (generic brand) to help "calm me" at night, but they don't always work. I have only three pills left and forgot to call the doctor's office today for a new prescription. :\
AK:That sucks! :(
Yeah, it does. LOL
I toss and turn and fluff me pillows up and move to the otherside of the bed (the cold side) and toss some more then think, bugger it, and I turn the light on and read....x
I get up and read if I have haven't been able to get to sleep after 30-45minutes. Silence--no music, no TV, just read in the quiet. That usually will help me--unless it's a really gripping book--ROFL! I try to stick to the light reading for falling asleep help. Do you read by braille? Or do you get audio books?
Toasty:LOL! Sounds familiar.Rita:I'm the same. Though often I just give up completely and try again later. Doing things like sorting blogs in the meantime. ;)In answer to your question... Both. Sometimes I will curl up and listen to an audiobook, other times I will read a braille book. Most of my collection is audiobooks though, because they are usually a bit easier to get hold of. There are a wide variety of braille books available, but there are loads that never make it to braille copies. Also, some books are just so long it's easier to get them as audiobooks or I'd need a huge library just for my books. Not that I'd mind that, but I don't have that kind of space.
I get up and move to another place - the sofa downstairs, the sofa upstairs.. maybe the bed... and if that doesn't work, I get up and read or watch TV.Today I just wanted to take a nap, so as soon as I could a laid down and was instantly wide-awake.Sigh...
Iggy:Oh man, I know that one all too well! :(
I usually can fall right to sleep once I crawl in to bed. however, just on the off chance I'm not tired enough, I keep a magazine by my bed to help tire my eyes out.
Styxie:That's what used to work for me before. Of course, in these past couple of years that hasn't been an option. Glad it works for you though. :)
