Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure
"Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure is a 2009 computer animated film based on the Disney Fairies franchise, produced by DisneyToon Studios, and a Chapter Book, "Tink, North of Neverland". It is a sequel to the 2008 film, Tinker Bell, and revolves around Tinker Bell, a fairy character created by J. M. Barrie in his play Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up, and featured in subsequent adaptations, especially in animated works by the Walt Disney Company."
"The nature-talent fairies are bringing to the mainland the season of leaves, hibernation, chilly breezes, and pumpkins: autumn. Meanwhile, Tinker Bell and dust-talent fairies like Terence are staying in Pixie Hollow. Tinker Bell is trying to make a "Pixie Express". But it fails just as she is called to meet Queen Clarion, Fairy Mary, and The Minister of Autumn.
They show her a magical moonstone and explain to her its powers. Every eight years, there is a blue harvest moon in Pixie Hollow. When the light of this moon passes through the moonstone, it creates blue pixie dust to rejuvenate the pixie dust tree. The Autumn Revelry is the associated event during which the fairies gather to collect the dust.
A new scepter is to be made to raise the moonstone, and Tinker Bell has been recommended. Although Tinker Bell has made mistakes in the past, Fairy Mary explains that tinker fairies learn from them, most of the time. Tinker Bell accepts the task, as well as help from Terence. But as the work on the scepter progresses, Tinker Bell begins to have trouble with Terence, who is trying too hard to be helpful. An accident occurs, causing the scepter and the stone to break. Tinker Bell sets out on in a balloon she's created to find a magic mirror, which, according to legend, granted two of three wishes before becoming lost. Tinker Bell intends to use the last wish to repair the moonstone."

This was a really cute little movie. I recommend it to all those who believe in fairies. ;)

Tinker Bell
"Tinker Bell is a 2008 computer animated film based on the Disney Fairies franchise produced by DisneyToon Studios. It revolves around Tinker Bell, a fairy character created by J. M. Barrie in his play Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up, and featured in the 1953 Disney animated film, Peter Pan and its 2002 sequel Return to Never Land."
"Tinker Bell is born from the first laugh of a baby, and is brought by the winds to Pixie Hollow (which is part of the island of Never Land). She learns that her talent is to be one of the tinkers, the fairies who make and fix things. Two other tinker fairies, Bobble and Clank, teach her their craft, and tell her about the fairies who visit the mainland to bring each season. Tinker Bell is thrilled and can't wait to go to the mainland for spring.
While out working, she meets Silvermist, a water fairy; Rosetta, a garden fairy; Iridessa, a light fairy; and Fawn, an animal fairy. After meeting them, she notices Vidia, a fast-flying fairy who immediately dislikes her because of her unusually strong talent. Vidia challenges her to prove she'll be able to go to the mainland, and Tinker Bell creates several inventions, which she shows to the Minister of Spring. But Tinker Bell soon learns from Queen Clarion that only nature-talent fairies visit the mainland."

Colds and Calpol
Sore throat, a nasty cough that makes my entire head hurt when it happens, a whole lot of sneezing (which hurts as much as the coughing)... I'm going with a sinus cold as a diagnosis. Caused, I think, by the sudden drop in temperature after the boiling hot weather we had last weekend. Thing is, when I went to bed it was boiling hot, so I left the window open, but when I got up it was very cold. I woke up all shivery, and couldn't get warm all day - despite curling up in just about every blanket we own - then my temperature suddenly soared early hours of Tuesday morning. I wasn't too bad on Tuesday, but did have a bit of a sore throat, so I wasn't all that surprised when from Wednesday onwards I started to feel really unwell. Anyway, forgive me if I'm a bit behind on blogs, but - these past couple of days especially - I've not been feeling too good. I've been camped out on the sofa doped up on Calpol (children's Tylanol). Before anyone who doesn't know asks... I take children's medicines for two reasons. The first is that they taste better, and I don't take anything I don't like the taste of if I can avoid it. The second is that - because I wait as long as possible before even taking the children's stuff - I don't really need anything stronger. Sure, I could take stronger, but why take the yucky tasting adult stuff when the tasty children's stuff works on me? Besides, people only end up needing the stronger "adult" stuff because they change to it and their body gets used to the stronger doses. Don't get me wrong, I know there are times when - because of certain medical issues, or whatever - the body needs stronger doses. And that's fine. But mine doesn't, so I'm going to stick with my strawberry flavoured children's medicine.

Furkid Friday: Gwyddion photos and a doggy visitor (FD)
Hi humans, this is Gwydion again.
I've not been up to much... Mostly lounging about in my cage...

And enjoying my fresh fruit and veggies...

Berries are starting to be on offer again, so the humans are having more strawberries and such. That's just fine by me, because it means I get those little leaves from the tops of them.
Of course, I've had some human cuddle time too, but there aren't photos for that.
Kero had a visitor a couple of times this past week. On Monday afternoon and Thursday morning Willow came for a visit. The humans made sure she couldn't come in to see me though, because she's much too big and scary for me to deal with! Kero said he liked having her visit, but he also liked when she went home and he got his Mami back to himself again. He's funny like that... Loves visitors, but also loves his one on one time with Mami!
That Mamguu human took Kero and Willow for a walkies together yesterday (before Willow went home). Kero really enjoyed that. But then, he would, because he loves to go outside for walkies.
Squeak soon,
Gwydion

Tawe Tales: The Gathering
On Tuesday evening, Dad and I went to see Owen Staton performing another of his "Tawe Tales" storytelling sessions. According to The Sleeping Giant Foundation's website, this particular performance was entitled, "The Gathering."
Now, Owen is a family friend - as those of you who have read my blog for a while will know - but I assure you that my opinion of his storytelling skills is not in the least influenced by that. He is a genuinely excellent storyteller, and I have thoroughly enjoyed every time that I have been at one of his sessions.
Thank you Owen, for another very enjoyable and entertaining evening!

I took these photos a couple of weeks ago. They were taken the same day as the photo in Kero's post on Friday (the one with him and the flowers). Anyway, I thought you would enjoy them, so, here they are:

Happy birthday Lucas
Today is Lucas (the son of a family friend)'s birthday. I don't think Lucas' parents read my blog - and being 5 years old, I know Lucas doesn't - but I figured I'd post a happy birthday wish for him anyway. So... Happy birthday Lucas!

Stupidity and shoes
I was going to post something else today, but I ended up going offline before I had a chance to do the post, and then my laptop was refusing to even accept the existance of an internet connection, let alone connect to any. To cut a long story short, we eventually discovered that I'd caught the little switch on the side of the laptop that stops it being able to locate and connect to internet connections, so as far as the laptop was concerned, I was telling it not to bother looking for a connection. So it's only now I'm finally able to get back on my blog and do a post of any sort. Yeah, I feel daft... I mean, it's not the first time I've done that, so you'd think I'd have had the sense to check. I guess not. LOL! Anyway, I can't be bothered to do the other post right now though, so all you get is this. Well, and this photo:

Yes, those are my new shoes.

Furkid Friday: Walkies and photos
Hi humans, it's Kero here.
It was very wet early in the week, but the last couple of days the weather has been really great... Perfect walkies weather! We didn't get proper walkies on Wednesday, because those noisy humans were playing with the giant metal posts that were all over my garden. They took them away, and now Mami and I can get outside for walkies whenever we want to. So yesterday (Thursday) we made up for the lack of decent walkies from Wednesday, and we went for four walkies! Twice in the morning, once after Mami got back from going to town with Mamgu in the afternoon, and then another time after dinner. It was fantastic! We had walkies today too, but only one so far, because Mamgu and the little human pup they call, "Emma-Jane," came for a visit, and the humans were busy with her. They might have taken us for walkies together, but Mamgu didn't bring that chair with wheels they put her in when she goes walkies, so they couldn't. Anyway, that human pup doesn't stay still for a second. She keeps the humans on their toes, that's for sure!
While the human pup was here, they decided to let her meet Gwydion. She thought he was cute and wanted to give him kisses, but the humans wouldn't let her. They wouldn't let her give me kisses either... Even though she did want to. They did let her pet us a little though. Silly human pup thinks Gwydion is another kind of dog. The humans did try and tell her, "Guinea Pig," but she kept insisting, "dog," for some reason.
By the time they left my living room looked like the box they keep her toys in had exploded all over it. Dadi and Mami picked all the stuff up though, then Mami took me walkies.
Anyway, both Gwydion and I have photos to share, but Gwydion's can wait for next week. This week I just want to share my photos. Mami has some to share too, but she can do hers another day as well. Like I said, I just want to do my own. So...
This first one is one Dadi took of me when he had been taking photos of Gwydion. I was giving him my, "what about me?" look. He got the hint, and took this photo:

And this next one is one Mami took when we were having our walkies one day recently... I think it was about a week ago? Anyway, here's the photo:

I have no idea what kinds of flowers those are. I'm not good with flower types. It doesn't matter to me what they're called. But if one of you humans know and you guys want to tell each other, then that's up to you. Humans are usually more interested in things like names than we dogs are. I know what they smell like to me, and that's all I need to know. I think that's just a dog thing though?
OK, Well... That's all I have to say this week. So, until next time...

Penguins - I couldn't resist!
I saw this plate the other day, and couldn't resist buying it, as I thought it was so cute!

And then I saw they had a bowl to match it, so I decided to get the set...

Like I said... I thought they were really cute, so I just couldn't resist!

It's gone!
They did take the scaffolding down!
Well, there's still some up round the back, but that's OK... The bit that was around the front is gone, which means I can go out there, and I can go for walks when I want.
In fact, I've already been for two walks today, and I've only been up for about four hours. It's another really nice day today, and I plan to spend as much of it as I can outside... Just because I can. Well, and because I just love to be outside... Especially on days like today. I love nature, and I love being out in it!
Speaking of which... I have some new walk photos to post in a few days, so look out for those!

The weather and the workmen
It's a beautiful day today... The kind of day when the weather is practically screaming at you that you should be outside enjoying it... But I'm inside. Why? Because of the workmen. They're doing something to the scaffolding. I think they're taking it away... I hope they're taking it away. Please, let them be taking it away!
Mothers' Day for a furkid Mami
It isn't just people with human kids who get Mothers' Day presents in our family. I had a present from my furbabies... And here's a photo of me holding it:

And here's a close-up of the mug:

And a close-up of the teddy:

It's good to be made to feel special... Especially on a day like Mothers' Day!

Tuesday - 20:05
I didn't lose any weight this week, but that's OK. I've lost a decent amount in the past month, and since my personal goal was 1lb per week, and I've lost 6lbs 8oz in the past four weeks, then I'm not bothered about having a week where I don't lose anything. Besides, that happens sometimes... Weeks with no weight loss, I mean.
***
I finished the second armchair throw Saturday evening. I didn't bother taking a photo though, because it's exactly the same as the other armchair throw, so I didn't see the point. Anyway, I gave the set to my Mam yesterday (Monday) and she loves it (she'd made sure not to look at the posts when I posted photos on here, so she hadn't seen it before yesterday).
Sunday I started Louise's scarf. I haven't done as much of it as I would have liked to, but I'll work on it later. I hope Louise likes the scarf as much as Mam likes her throw set!
***
Three of the courses I was doing are finished now... "Haiku Poetry," "Journalism," and "Basic Writing Skills." The rest will be finishing in the next few days, so by next week I'll be choosing the courses for the next batch; and having Kelly help me sign up for them.
***
My feet are sore and blistered. I think it's because of my shoes. Plimsoles aren't good walking shoes! It was fine when I wasn't walking much, but now that I'm walking more... Not so much. So I decided I need some decent walking shoes; before my feet get worse!
As it happens, there are sales on in many clothing shops - as well as most other shops - right now. And one of those sales is on walking shoes. So, I ordered myself a pair from Sports Direct's website earlier today. I should have them Thursday or Friday. I ordered a pair for Kelly too, since his old ones are in need of replacing, and it cost less for both pairs and the delivery charge than it did for his before, so I figured now - while the sale was on - would be a good time to get his replaced... Especially since I was paying the delivery charge for mine anyway, so his are technically being delivered for free.
The course I did on "Walking For Health" not long ago was stressing the importance of having decent walking shoes, and since I didn't - as already mentioned - I figured I really should. In these past few years (since I stopped walking as much) I haven't bothered to get more than plimsoles or other light weight shoes that aren't really meant for walking, so I figured it was time I changed that and got a decent pair of walking shoes.
I should get some decent socks too, but I'm still trying to figure out what decent socks would be.

You may or may not have noticed, but I've been adding "topics" to my posts. I still have loads of old posts to add labels to, but after putting labels on almost a hundred posts I got bored of it for now. LOL! I started it because I was looking for a post the other day and finding it hard to find, so I figured if I add labels to my posts then in future I'll be able to find them easier. At least, I hope I will, anyway. I'll finish adding labels as and when I have the time and inclination to do so. I have almost 2000 posts on my blog though, so it could take me a while to get them all done.

The Magic Kingdom Of Landover
By Terry Brooks
Books in the series:
Magic Kingdom For Sale - Sold
The Black Unicorn
Wizard At Large
The Tangle Box
Witches' Brew
A Princess Of Landover
"Chicago lawyer Ben Holiday can't fathom what lies ahead when he purchases Landover-a magical kingdom of chivalry and sorcery-from Meeks, the mysterious seller who placed the ad. Weary and jaded, Ben clings to the ad's promise: 'Escape into your dreams.' But Landover is not the enchanted idyll he expected.
The kingdom is in ruin. The barons refuse to recognize Ben as King, a dragon is decimating the countryside, and a demon lord has challenged any prospective ruler to a fatal duel. To make matters worse, the Paladin, renowned champion of the Kings of Landover, seems to be merely a legend.
Ben's only allies are a bumbling court magician, a talking dog turned court scribe, and the beautiful Willow, who is part girl, part tree. With his friends in tow, Ben sets out to claim the throne. But when Meeks decides he wants Landover back, Ben will face supernatural foes of every stripe to prove himself worthy of the kingship. The question is: Can he survive?"
(above taken from this site, or you can visit Terry's official site by clicking on his name at the start of this post).
This is the series of books I mentioned near the start of February... The series I was enjoying so much that I had finished three and a half books in less than 3 days! Anyway, my Dad recommended these books to me, and when he discovered I was interested in reading them, he decided to get me this series - well, books 1 to 5 anyway - for Christmas. As I already mentioned, I absolutely loved it! It was a truely wonderful and entertaining series, filled with all sorts of magic and magical creatures (such as a dragon who thinks humans read too many fairytales). But if you want to know more, then you're going to have to read the books for yourself... Something that I highly recommend!

April Fools' Day
I know it was yesterday, but I had the "Furkid Friday" post to do yesterday, so you can have this a day late, since I want to post it after I went to the trouble of finding the information!
***
"April Fools' Day is celebrated in the Western world on April 1st of every year. Sometimes referred to as All Fools' Day, April 1st is not a legal holiday, but is widely recognized and celebrated as a day which tolerates practical jokes and general foolishness. The day is marked by the commission of good humoured or funny jokes, hoaxes and other practical jokes of varying sophistication on friends, family members, teachers, neighbors, work associates, etc.
Traditionally, in some countries such as New Zealand, the UK, Australia, and South Africa, the jokes only last until noon, and someone who plays a trick after noon is called an "April Fool". It is for this reason that newspapers in the U.K. that run a front page April fool only do so on the first (morning) edition. Elsewhere, such as in France, Ireland, Italy, South Korea, Japan, Russia, The Netherlands, Germany, Brazil, Canada, and the U.S., the jokes last all day. The earliest recorded association between April 1 and foolishness can be found in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales (1392). Many writers suggest that the restoration of January 1 as New Year's Day in the 16th century was responsible for the creation of the holiday, but this theory does not explain earlier references.
Origins
In Chaucer's Canterbury Tales (1392), the "Nun's Priest's Tale" is set Syn March bigan thritty dayes and two. Chaucer probably meant 32 days after March, i.e. May 2, the anniversary of the engagement of King Richard II of England to Anne of Bohemia, which took place in 1381. However, readers apparently misunderstood this line to mean "March 32," i.e. April 1. In Chaucer's tale, the vain cock Chauntecleer is tricked by a fox.
In 1508, a French poet referred to a poisson d’avril (April fool, literally "April fish"), a possible reference to the holiday. In 1539, Flemish poet Eduard de Dene wrote of a nobleman who sent his servants on foolish errands on April 1. In 1686, John Aubrey referred to the holiday as "Fooles holy day", the first British reference. On April 1, 1698, several people were tricked into going to the Tower of London to "see the Lions washed". The name "April Fools" echoes that of the Feast of Fools, a Medieval holiday held on December 28.
In the Middle Ages, New Year's Day was celebrated on March 25 in most European towns. In some areas of France, New Year's was a week-long holiday ending on April 1. So it is possible that April Fools originated because those who celebrated on January 1 made fun of those who celebrated on other dates. The use of January 1 as New Year's Day was common in France by the mid-sixteenth century, and this date was adopted officially in 1564 by the Edict of Roussillon.
In the eighteenth century the festival was often posited as going back to the time of Noah. According to an English newspaper article published in 1789, the day had its origin when Noah sent his dove off too early, before the waters had receded; he did this on the first day of the Hebrew month that corresponds with April."

Furkid Friday: weights (FD)
Hi there humans. This is Gwydion again.
For some reason Mami decided it would be a good idea to weigh us boys. I have no idea what made her decide to do it, but she did. Anyway, she decided to do me first, but when she put me on the scales she weighs on they wouldn't register my weight. They kept either just turning off or saying, "error," all the time. So in the end she gave up on those ones and put me on the kitchen scales. They weighed me fine, and said I was 2lbs 10oz. Mami says she thought I'd be more than that... How rude! I don't know who that human thinks she is!
After that she wanted to weigh Kero. She tried getting him to just sit on the scales, but he wouldn't. So she tried getting him to stand on his back legs with his front paws on her. He wouldn't do that either. In the end she gave up, weighed herself, then picked him up and got on the scales herself with him in her arms. He weighs 2 stone, 3lbs and 12oz (that's 31lbs 12oz, for those of you not familiar with how many lbs are in a stone).
Like I said, I have no idea why she decided to weigh us, but I guess she thought it was a good idea for some reason. Personally - and I'm sure I can speak for Kero with this too - I didn't enjoy the experience one bit! But at least she gave me some greens and Kero one of his doggy treats after she was done weighing us.
That's all I really have to say today, and Mami is going to be having lunch any minute, so I need to be watching for her bringing any little bits of fruit or veggies that might be coming my way. So, I'll let this do for this week.
Squeak soon,
Gwydion
