Fruit and veg portions (FD)

A portion of fruit or vegetables is:

1 banana, apple, pear, peach, or orange
1 handful of grapes
1 glass of unsweetened fruit juice
3 tablespoons of carrots, peas, or other vegetables
1 large slice of melon, or pineapple
1 bowl of strawberries, raspberries, rhubarb, or gooseberries
2 plums, kiwi fruit, prunes, apricots, or satsumas
1 bowl of salad
1 tablespoon dried fruit, like dried apricots, raisins, or dried prunes

Fruit and Vegetables can be fresh, frozen or tinned.

Oh, Iggy....I found out what a satsumas was from Deedee. Did you know they grow them near her?

I like veggies much more than fruit. Most of the fruits I do like are summer ones like strawberries, blueberries, plums and cantaloupe.
For veggies, I like almost anything but my two faves are spaghetti squash and brussell sprouts.
What are your faves Tori?

Well, if you're hungry, grab some food... There's plenty of inspiration in the post. ;)

My favourite fruits are (in no particular order):

Rhubarb
Cherries
Strawberries
Raspberries
Blackberrries
Blueberries
Grapes

But I do like most fruits, and eat a variety (apples, oranges of various types, plums, kiwi fruit, etc). I have to be careful with melon though, since I'm alergic to it in its pure form. If there's a small amount of it mixed with other things in a smoothie or something, I can deal with it. If it's pure melon, allergies kick in. I also don't have bananas a lot. Not because I don't like them, because I do. It's because one from time to time is plenty for me after a time when I had to have one a day to keep my potasium level up. Being forced to eat something takes some of the pleasure out of eating it, and it's hard to get that enjoyment back.

Anyway...

My favourite veggies are (again, in no particular order):

Green beans/runner beans
Sprouts
Parsnips
Potatoes
Carrots

Though I do eat most veggies.

There are some fruit and vegetables I haven't gotten around to trying yet, but I've liked the bulk of those I have tried.

Now I'm hungry for rhubarb pie. Does it cease being a fruit when you add over a cup of sugar to it?

No, it doesn't stop being a fruit, but it does stop being healthy. LOL!

I'm also one who eats all kinds of vegetables but not much fruit. I could hear a list of veggies that would make my mouth water. A list of fruits--nothing--hehe! I should try to eat more fruit, I suppose. ;)

Rita:
As long as you eat some fruits, it's no big deal. Fruits are good for you, but veggies are usually best anyway, since many fruits are full of sugar.
